2027: NDC Names Dickson, Obi To Lead National Campaign Council.

The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has appointed its National Leader, Senator Henry Seriake Dickson, as chairman of its National Campaign Council ahead of the 2027 general elections, with its presidential candidate, Peter Obi, named as co-chairman.

The party announced the appointments in a statement posted on its official X account on Sunday, outlining the leadership structure that will coordinate its nationwide campaign activities and mobilisation efforts.

Under the arrangement, the NDC National Chairman, Senator Cleopas Moses Zuwoghe, will serve as vice-chairman, while the party’s vice-presidential candidate, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has been appointed co-vice-chairman.

The party’s National Secretary, Barrister Ikenna Morgan Enekweizu, will serve as secretary of the council, while Mallam Ibrahim Hussain Abdulkarim has been named director-general.

According to the party, the council is expected to provide strategic direction for its campaign, coordinate activities across the country and mobilise support for its candidates ahead of the elections.

“The National Campaign Council will provide strategic leadership, coordinate campaign activities across the country, and drive the mobilisation of Nigerians behind the party’s vision of a new, just, and prosperous Nigeria,” the statement said.

The NDC also said its campaign would focus on the needs of Nigerians and policy issues, describing its approach as “people-centred and issue-based”.

It urged party members, supporters and other Nigerians sympathetic to its vision to remain united as preparations for the 2027 general elections gather momentum.

“We call on all party members, supporters, and well-meaning Nigerians to remain united and focused as we work together to rescue our country,” the party said..
